Celebs and Champagne at the Mazagan launch

No rest for the wicked this weekend as I flew to Morocco for the weekend in time for Sol Kerzner’s fabulous celebrity launch party for the Mazagan Beach Resort.
Time for a chat with Kerzner himself, then a bite to eat in the sunshine alongside fellow jetsetters Lisa Snowdon and Donna Air before taking a tour of the nearby town with none other than Simon Le Bon, who impressed us all as he skilfully haggled over a beautifully decorated bag for wife Yasmin. Then back to the resort to glam up for the launch party.
Sporting my highest heels and LBD, I made my way through the labyrinthine hotel’s corridors back to reception, where an explosion of colour, music and the sound of clinking Champagne glasses awaited.
The economic credit crisis was far from mind at the Mazagan on Saturday night – the bubbly flowed until dawn, no expense was spared on the service or decorations and the guest list was crammed with more celebs than a women’s weekly magazine  (a tearful-looking Lindsay Lohan surrounded by burly-bouncer types – check. A stunning Naomi Campbell sashaying past – check).
Guests were treated to sumptuous canapes, a choice of restaurants, a wealth of live entertainment and a prolonged, if slightly smoky, firework extravaganza.
Then it was on to the resort’s nightclub where I managed to sneak into the VIP area for a boogie with Yasmin Le Bon, Lisa Snowdon and Tamsin Egerton. All in all, a pretty star-spangled Halloween! – Incentive Girl
